An Untitled Reply

I found this poem in a folder where I keep my stuff from Limerick. It was supposed to be read in my last open mic in the White House, but I don't know why it didn't happen. I wrote this after having a long chat with Tom McCarthy in the open mic.
Here you have it.

An Untitled Reply

I know I need to slow down.
Writing for a dying love won't give me one,
But my heart has some reasons
That reason itself avoids to understand.
There's nothing wrong about expressing my feelings,
But I like to hide them in writing.
I'm sure you did the same at the beginning.
I was shy. Now in myself I trust.
If not, I wouldn't be tonight
Reading my stuff to our fellow poets
Under this darkly whispering light.
I forgive you for being honest with me,
In fact, I appreciate that honesty,
And I also forgive you for wanting me to inspire you,
I was thinking these days and conclude
That life is about improving,
So, I thank you
For making me feel improved.
